Things to Remember while scuba diving

The following points are to be kept in mind for a safe scuba diving in Andaman

  • Follow all the instructions of your divemaster
  • Don’t go for diving after consuming alcohol or other intoxicating products.
  • Never argue with your divemaster to go alone diving.
  • Don’t go diving after having any kind of medication.
  • You can’t fly for 12 hours after experiencing scuba diving.
  • Nonswimmers are advised to don’t venture into the activity by themselves.
  • Don’t try to touch sea corals and marine life underwater.

Who is eligible for scuba diving?

Any person who is in good physical or mental health can go diving irrespective they are a beginner or non-swimmer. 12 years is the minimum age for scuba diving in Andaman. Anyone above 12 years of age and up to 50 years is eligible for underwater diving provided they are physically and mentally fit for diving.

The following health issues may hold your scuba diving journey.

  • High blood pressure or taking medications to control it.
  • Suffering from Sugar, diabetes, and Asthma and taking medicine to control them.
  • History of mental or psychological issues.
  • History of heart attacks, panic attacks, and sudden strokes.
  • History of frequent bleeding, lung failure, and nervous system breakdown.
  • Back, leg, and arm injury or recent surgery.
  • Ear infection, ear disease, eardrums, recent ear surgery, or other associated issues
  • Taking medications for any medical issues mentioned above.

Note: It is not necessarily mean that you can’t go for dive under the above-mentioned conditions. You can go diving In case your health expert finds you fit for the activity and certifies you for underwater activities.
